What is an Interaction?
Is it the same thing as a force?
No! The word "interaction" is more general. An electron and a
positron (antielectron) exert forces on each other due to their
electromagnetic interaction. However, if they collide,
they may disappear; this annihilation produces other particles.
This process is also due to the electromagnetic interaction.
Particle decays (processes in which one particle disappears leaving
two or more particles in its place) are a further
consequence of interactions.
